Private Collection. A boro memory of Paris made from scraps.

HaikuQuartet. ©2019, 16" x 16" each frame. Raw edge applique & quilting by hand; shibori indigo over fiber reactive color.

Inspired by haikus by Basho, each representing a different season.
Spring: old pond/a frog jumps into/the sound of water.
Summer: folly in darkness/Grasping a thorn/Instead of a firefly.
Autumn: not yet a butterfly/Even as autumn passes/the caterpillar.
Winter: usually hateful/however a crow on a snowy/morning.
