Fabric:
2 yds of washed, dried, untreated, 44-45" wide 100% white cotton
(Note: PFD or "prepared for dyeing" fabric is not required but guarantees the best results.)
Cut fabric in the following manner & bring to class:
1. Cut 9” (1/4 yard) strips across the fabric’s width (you’ll get 7 for sure, the 8th may be a
bit smaller if prewashing shrank the 2 yards)
2. Cut 2 of these strips into 9” squares = 8 - 9” squares + 2 smaller leftovers
3. Cut 4 of these strips in half = 8 - 9” x 22” rectangles
4. Bring the remaining 2 strips with the smaller leftover squares to class for experimenting
Linen or silk, additional cotton: a small amount of each for experimenting (optional).
