Cotton & silk, shibori dyed in fiber reactive dyes and indigo; machine pieced, raw edge applique, hand quilted.
This quilt was inspired by local shells, found on the beaches of New England. The sea is made up of
arashi (pole-wrapped) shibori, with silk organza and silk gaze on top of a cotton layer.
