Minimum needed for making samples:
5 muslin or cotton “tops” , 18 “ square *
5 pieces of batting 18” square (whatever you like to use)
5 pieces of backing fabric,18” square **

*Sample tops can be plain muslin or pieced, fused, painted, etc. to create a design to quilt over.

** Weight of backing fabric depends on your preference: heavier for machine quilting, lighter for handing quilting. Bring extra sets of materials, if you want to experiment.

If you have a finished quilt top, baste it to batting and backing; bring it to class to create a quilt design for it. This is a good opportunity to tackle one of those unfinished projects that has gotten stuck in quilt top limbo. If not, bring extra fabric (for top, batting & backing), for experimenting.
